Discover Card – E-Business Digital Delivery |
|
Discover Financial Services (B2C): [www.discover.com] The largest credit card web site I have worked on is Discover.com, a high transaction volume site handling millions of monthly cardmember inquiries and payments. My role for Discover was to plan for a transformation of E-Business Digital Delivery email and SMS alert messaging to real-time, a major step forward from overnight batch processing based on posted account transactions. With the rapidly growing use of mobile devices, being able to provide instant communications to cardmembers was essential for improving the user experience, and to ensure customer engagement, satisfaction, timely notifications and overall competitive position for Discover in the consolidating credit card marketplace. Discover uses product development process (PDP) methodology to define concepts for products and services (CPS); their structured approach has helped Discover to be a leader in design and user acceptance for Discover.com web services. For the project initiation, I reviewed the current state of reminder alerts, analyzed and developed a quantitative business model with subscriber enrollment funnels and cost benefit analysis (CBA), documented high-level requirements as part of drafting the Business Product Specification (BPS), and framed the project delivery strategy and plan with a project charter PowerPoint for the business and technology teams to use for implementation.
