ABN AMRO (B2B): [www.maxtrad.com] MaxTrad.com is one of the top 5 transaction banking e-commerce web portal services providing merchant banking to thousands of ABN AMRO clients. ABN AMRO’s buyout was the largest in bank history, and helping to manage the process of dividing the bank’s legacy systems and client data between Bank of America and the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) proved to be a challenging process. I was brought in as a senior consulting manager, and started by organizing the effort with an overall roadmap and program charter PowerPoint to document the project plan phases and steps, as well as the checkpoint deliverables and team organization. This was followed by detailed project plans and coordinating with various bank teams to determine requirements and project deliverable schedules for team members working in Chicago, Edinburgh, Scotland, and a group of off shore testers in India. New data centers were built from scratch, system software installed on the latest water cooled HP blade servers, large SAN/NAS storage installed, coupled to a redundant communications structure and hot back-up site. Finally, all client data was migrated, tested, and operations successfully cut-over without any business interruptions to global trade!
